2024 Year
|
25.10.2025
- Just registered yesterday on the MessengerGeek as my attempt to
find someone so I could someone to add in Jabber. Honestly, I'm starting
to use Discord less. Because it's just not enjoyable anymore after 10
years. Although, I befriended with some people in various servers, but
it'll be hard to convince to ditch Discord. That forum is somewhat
breathing and I hope it's worth trying to find someone. Using Jabber
with Miranda NG is awesome, but would be even better if I could get in
touch and talk about anything related to nostalgic stuff. Plus, I
download one of the old sites that used smileys from old ICQ to express
own thoughts and it maybe looks identical when it used back then. I
wonder where else get customization for Miranda NG, if I want to expand
various options to look better. UI itself looks a lot more pleasant to
me. 29.10.2025 - So far so good I'm truly experiencing the XMPP. Got acquainted from couple of people, but still need going to find someone who's interested in old games like me. According to one guy, the chat room is somewhat have 20 to 30 years old people in there if I'll want to befriend. This service XMPP looks very neat for me and I'll probably study on it's capabilities further once I have free time. It looks I found more options to hear notifications on Miranda NG. Oh I just realized, that I'll need to update my webpage really badly. Cuz november will hit in 3 days and I'll need to pickup the pace. I don't wanna skip it and made a disaster that I skipped my site's birthday. 9.11.2025 - Oh god. This is sad. There's news that my russian government plans to monitor citizens internet activity and it'll be much worser, than just ban of YouTube. That means global internet will be cutting out and we'll be in cheburnet (government way to "protect" it's on citizens and isolation from the world wide web and will be stuck only in russian net) Damn our government that they cause more harm than good for citizens. Yay, we're gonna be like North Korea, but twice worser than great Chinese firewall. Not only our people are pissed off from this dumb choice and new law. This means we'll probably going to stock up on disks to construct our private libraries, as well VPNs if Roskomnadzor decides to cut off russian net whatever they want if there's something odd on ordinary citizen who's just want to watch YouTube for education if he or she stuck on what doing. Why they can't just actually PROTECT citizens from bad actors? You know what, I'll take myself 1 TB SSD so I could pick up the pace and finish up my library. I hope those prices of disks won't skyrocket and hopefully will prepare myself for the cheburnet. 15.11.2025 - I hope the XMPP won't be included in the banned list. This is like the only enjoyable messenger I'm using and trying to experience it more further. I hate RKN so much for doing more harm, than good. So right now I've installed some plenty of stuff on my portable 2 TB SSD and it should last longer once cheburnet will be in action. And I tried VLC to see if I can watch the video or movie on that program. Quite interesting and I will use it more often for watching movies in this program. I'm honestly feeling worried about how will people in Russia like me will survive on the cheburnet. One scenario I can imagine we would get like talons or cards to "activate" internet in some various size for GBs from government. I can imagine how annoyance will be. But stocking up in emergency with necessary files is faster. Basically "cyber" survival kit incase of isolation. Also, this means we'll probably going to visit those retro clubs as the gathering point. I'm going to keep up with downloading and installing various important files to keep and trade if my mates wants stuff to use. 19.11.2025 - I found web directory that it has list of various stuff like food, computers, blogs, entertainment. And I found one forum specifically it's dedicated for nostalgia (presumably from mid 90s to early 2000s) and the member list is tiny. I think I remember barely in my childhood that Yandex also had web directory before they moved as average search engine. I even used it a lot, because it searched a lot of niche stuff. And it even had a pleasant welcoming search engine that it had everything you'll need. Oh even had anniversary theme for the Doom in 2013 as celebration for the game's release. Man, I loved it when Yandex had that, until they removed it on several years later. It looks like some of the web directories are working and I'll probably find niche stuff more than on the modern search engines. Plus, I wanted to try Ecosia and I read that people condemned Ecosia for implementing AI. What's with all those tech companies using AI? I don't even want to read what AI says, because it's too unreliable and I'm used to find only specifically from actual people what they ask or looking for. Seems like web directories like "Wildwild.directory" will be my "search" engine to find variety. Not interested in those dumbass "AI" thoughts and it's corrupts and brainwashes people with that crap. All those implementation with neuro programs things corrupts the internet and it'll be hard to decentralize from those companies and corporations when they infest with ads. Seems like it's not a "Dead internet theory", more of a "Dead internet fact". |
